Hungary’s capital, Budapest is a haven for ‘Inter-railers’ and backpackers around Europe, and it’s not hard to see why. Firstly, Hungary offers stunning natural beauty, with its diverse landscapes, history, culture, hearty food and friendly people, and is one of the cheapest cities and countries in Europe to explore, as it is yet to adopt the Euro.
If you have time, try not to just stick to the usual route. Head off the beaten track and explore what the real Hungary has to offer. Many travellers just fly in to visit the capital, and fail to witness the beautiful scenery and landscapes of the country. However, whilst in Budapest, make sure you visit one of Budapest’s many ruin pubs, which are alive in culture and each have their own uniqueness.
