Turkey is such a diverse country, with so much history and culture. Many people do not realise how big it is, from the mountains in Cappadocia to the beaches in Antalya, Turkey should definitely be on your list. Istanbul is one of the craziest cities we have visited, it is always buzzing at any time of day, and it is such as immense city, whereas if you visit the smaller towns of Izmir you will get a completely different take on what Turkish lifestyle is about, and that’s what we love about the country.
Turkey is also the gateway to Asia, separated by the Bosphorus. With half of the city of Istanbul in Europe and the other half in Asia, which is pretty awesome! However, do be aware of crime and pickpocketing throughout large cities, and we do advise against any travel along the Syria and Iraq boarders in Southeast Turkey due to ongoing conflict.
